What do you think?

A straight forward question for all you ladies that have already had babies, do you buy the maternity panties or not? Are they worth it or can you manage prefectly well with the underwear you already have in your drawer?

I never did...

I wore the same undies the whole time. As for after the baby is born, you will either want to make sure you have old undies that you don't care about, or buy cheap granny-panties that you can throw out afterwards. Things can get messy...I have more to say about this, but we'll chat ;)

I think maternity panties are too expensive and ugly.

My first pregnancy I just stretched out what I had, then bought all new stuff when I was back to my old size. My second pregnancy I didn't want to wreck all my nice, new underwear, so I bought a few pairs of nice, soft, cotton, dark-coloured bikini underwear (which fit nice under the belly) in one size bigger than I normally wear, and they lasted me the whole pregnancy. I think they were fruit of the loom, so they were quite inexpensive.

The maternity underwear I think is worth the money (for comfort sake and is expensive to replace if you stretch what you already have to obliterton) is: tights, a thong (for those outfits that absolutely require no lines!), bathing suit, and tank top/camisole.

I never bought any, and I didn't regret it. I agree with the comments though, it's better just to get some cheap cotton ones for after. Just get normal briefs that fit under your belly and you'll be fine!

Hey Chris,

I never bothered either - just wore my normal pants - I used it as an excuse to get nice new ones after Rebekah was born!
